What's New
Spencer Phillips completed an Eagle Scout project at Woodland Wonders - he and his troop members of troop 113 completed a much needed cage for birds of prey.
You have been reading about the long awaited flight cage- it is now has been operational for about one year and so far 7 birds have been and successfully released. It takes about 1 month for each bird to be conditioned for release. Again, a big thanks to the Polk County Board of Commissioners and of you faithful readers and supporters. Every dollar was important towards the accomplishment of this wonderful flight cage!
Woodland Wonders is currently with a young man completing his Eagle Scout badge and he will be completing the pond in the flight cage! He is a member of the same Scout troop that the young man who donated $ for the flight cage attends.
Woodland Wonders was busy in 2006 averaging about 350 feathered and furred wildlife. We participated in numerous community programs also and that always gives us a chance to show the public wildlife in person.
Woodland Wonders is preparing for a busy Spring season- we are getting the little "infant" cages ready and bringing in a fresh supply of food, etc. so when that first little Spring arrival comes, we are ready! Woodland Wonders has just completed a new cage for dove rehab and is working on several more cages on site.
