Woodland Wonders April 2019 Update

Lots of changes happening with Woodland Wonders. We are in the transition period of myself stepping down from wildlife rehabilitation and someone else taking over the endeavor. Let me introduce Emily Tew and Destiny Houghton. They are a mother-daughter team and Emily has helped with the program for 20 years plus. Destiny volunteered as a teen for community hours with the program! They are passionate wildlife caregivers and have many wonderful new ideas to take Woodland Wonders to new heights!

A wonderful blessing change will be Woodland Wonders has signed a “Shared-Use agreement” with the Polk County School Board and we have use of a building, boardwalk over wetlands and 4 acres! The long term plans include having small group tours and school-age students come to the center and learn about wildlife and environmental conservation and protection. We will have a need for volunteers and since the center is close to a high school, some student help will be utilized.
